Calgary is a perfect destination for winter sports fanatics; powdery snow and great facilities. The 1988 Winter Olympics were held here due to the great climate and excellent Olympic Park. Taking a bobsleigh ride is popular activity to enjoy while you’re there; you can experience high speeds and a burst of adrenaline as you race down the ice slopes. There are flights aplenty to Calgary from a variety of cities.

There are lots of other activities to be enjoyed at the Olympic Park as well as bobsleighing. The tour of the icehouse is an interesting thing to do, perhaps before or after your bobsleigh ride. It’s the world’s only indoor training facility for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton teams. There is a glass elevator you can take to the Sky Jump Tower and see how high the ski jumpers jump from! It’s also Calgary’s highest vantage point, and it’s a great place to get a panoramic view of the city. Here you can see the largest Olympic memorabilia collection in the country and at the Olympic Hall of Fame & Museum you can hold the 1988 Olympic torch.
