Tim Wadsworth Biography

Born March 27, 1959

Tim Wadsworth has been drawing and painting since early adolescence and worked with a wide variety of mediums and in multiple forms. Early guidance and influence came from his grandmother and by the self study of many admired artists and works. While in school, most of his focus was on technical drawing. and drafting but there was always a magnetism to work with the freedom of sketching and watercolors.

Tim studied Fine Art at Slippery Rock University and completed his BS in Business Administration in 1981. Combining business interests with artistic ability found him opening the doors of Wadsworth Productions that offered commercial art services to the suburban Philadelphia area and beyond. Projects ranged from graphic design, murals, gold leaf, hand-carved signs, lettering, to commissioned paintings. The comfort zone always proved to be the return home to work in fine art.

Published by Primrose Press in 1991, Tim was able to gain broader exposure and recognition by distributing his fine art prints to regional galleries. This in turn, lead to displaying and selling original work in local galleries and opportunities to participate in art shows and events. His work is included many private and corporate collections.

Working primarily in watercolors, his subject matter gravitates to the Pennsylvania landscape and often focuses on historical architecture and rural settings. More recent works include oils, acrylics, and mixed media to accomplish a higher degree of realism.
